Plate Cutter/Plasma Cutter

We are seeking a skilled plate cutter for full time work in Cleveland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cutting machinery to precisely cut metal plates according to project specifications. The plate cutter must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, measuring tools, and operating cutting equipment safely and efficiently. Must be familiar with Plasma and Laser Cutters.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting specifications.
2. Set up and operate cutting machinery such as plasma cutters, laser cutters, or mechanical shears.
3. Measure and mark metal plates according to cutting requirements using measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, or micrometers.
4. Ensure accuracy and precision in cutting metal plates to meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
5. Monitor cutting processes to prevent defects and adjust machinery settings as necessary.
6. Inspect finished parts for quality, completeness, and adherence to specifications.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine maintenance on cutting equipment.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
9. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and meet project deadlines.
10. Report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Proven experience as a plate cutter or similar role in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
4. Strong mathematical skills and ability to use measuring tools accurately.
5. Experience operating cutting machinery such as plasma cutters, laser cutters, or mechanical shears.
6. Knowledge of metal properties, cutting techniques, and safety procedures.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
8. Good communication skills and attention to detail.
9. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
10. Willingness to undergo training and learn new skills as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Vocational training or certification in metal fabrication or machining.
2. Experience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting machines.
3. Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for programming cutting operations.
4. Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
