This position may require periodic visits to either our San Francisco, New York, Boston or Washington DC offices. The credit analyst will work closely with senior underwriters, the origination team and credit risk management in reviewing and analyzing financial models, conducting due diligence, helping structure the transaction, assessing credit risk ratings, preparing deal screen presentations, writing credit approval memorandums, presenting recommendations to credit committee and monitoring, and managing the credit portfolio.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Analyze obligor’s financial position by interpreting, evaluating, and spreading financial statements, tax returns and projections.
  2. Analyze financial models for renewable energy and/or energy efficiency projects and assist in preparing loan sizing and repayment models.
  3. Determine the proper risk rating for all facilities in accordance with credit policy guidelines.
  4. Attend meetings and/or conference calls on new transactions, collaborating with relationship managers and members of credit risk management in developing deal indicative term sheets and deal screen presentations.
  5. Assist in preparing comprehensive credit memorandum narratives to support the proposed loans and analyze industry related policies, regulations, and risks and mitigants.
  6. Perform covenant(s) compliance and manage the portfolio
  7. Assist in early identification, classification, and management of impaired credits.
  8. Assist in presentation of transactions to credit committee in support of approval.
  9. Review loan documentation for all underwritten or managed credits, prepared by internal or external counsel for covenant compliance and credit monitoring.
  10. Perform other transaction related and administrative duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with proven academic excellence
  2. Experience or interest in working within the renewable energy space.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  4. Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Excellent team player
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  9. Previous credit underwriting and/or banking experience a plus


Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $70,000.00 – $80,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
