Position - Director of Graduate Education & Clinical Experiences


Position Summary:

The Director of Graduate Education will lead our online education graduate programs while also serving as the clinical director overseeing practical training experiences for our students. Avila University is a leading institution committed to excellence in online education and the development of future educators. Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for the education preparation graduate programs, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission and goals.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop innovative and effective online curriculum for education preparation programs, incorporating best practices and research-based methods.
  • Clinical Supervision: Serve as the clinical director, overseeing field experiences, internships, and student teaching placements.
  • Faculty Support: Support and mentor faculty members involved in education preparation programs, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with schools, districts, and educational organizations to enhance opportunities for student learning and collaboration.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement systems for assessing program effectiveness and student learning outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure compliance with state and national accreditation standards for education preparation programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: A master's degree or higher in education, educational leadership, or a related field is required. A doctorate is preferred.
  • Teaching Experience: Experience as a teacher or educator, preferably at both the K-12 and college level, with a demonstrated track record of effectiveness.
  • Administrative Experience: Experience in program administration, curriculum development, and/or educational leadership roles.
  • Clinical Experience: Experience supervising field experiences, internships, or student teaching placements is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty, staff, and students.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to Diversity: A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, with the ability to promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Champion diversity, build an inclusive culture and learning experience, and maintain an equitable learning environment.
  • Multilingual skills highly preferred.
