Provides support within the accounting/finance department ensuring accuracy of financial data. Preparation of bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, fixed assets, G/L reconciliations and assists with the month end close. The Senior Staff Accountant is directly reporting to the Accounting Manager. The Accounting Team is part of the Finance Department which is led by the Financial Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Accounting Manager to compile, report and pay monthly taxes to the US and Canadian tax authorities
• Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy of coding and costs
• Work with A/R clerk regarding reconciliation, cash clearing and credit memos for US and Canada
• Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
• Maintain various balance sheet schedules such as prepaids, accrued expenses & warranty
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare monthly depreciation entries
• Assist with account analysis/fluctuations
• Preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasts
• Review and process company credit card expense reports
• Assist with internal/external audit preparation
• Assist with inventory management reporting and costing
• Preparation of ad-hoc reports as needed
• Other duties, as assigned

SKILLS, COMPETENTCIES & EXPERIENCE

• Microsoft Office: Strong Outlook & Excel formulas and functions
• SAP ByDesign & Concur experience a plus
• Canada tax law experience a plus
• Comfortable with deadlines and acting on priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Takes initiative to communicate with an understand the needs of others outside of the department
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Willing to provide open and honest feedback with the aim to improve organizational processes
