Salary: $100,000 - $120,000/year DOE

Join JR & Co., Inc. as a  Senior Project Manager responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of assigned Roofing and Sheet Metal projects to ensure the goals and objectives are accomplished. The Senior Project Manager monitors schedule, scope, and budget parameters as well as provides support to all aspects of branch operations.  Additionally, the Senior PM will oversee Federal Prime Contract projects that require significant documentation, tracking and communication according to government systems and requirements.

Key Responsibilities (this list is a summary and not meant to be all-inclusive of all responsibilities):

  • Attend and Actively participate in pre-bids
  • Review all project information to understand the scope of work, review assigned jobs and provide feedback on draft contracts and budget proposals
  • Lead pre-construction meetings with clear agenda
  • Prepare Schedule of Values to comply with project goals and ensure positive cash flow
  • Complete Safety Plan and Hazard Assessment with Safety Team
  • Prepare Sub-Contract Agreements
  • Monitor and maintain project performance and branch data in spreadsheets and software
  • Ensure submittals, reporting, and billing documentation is completed accurately and timely
  • Input Inventory (pick/return) tickets into CE weekly and assist with monthly count
  • Create job foreman binders and assist with job kick-offs, Collaborate with Superintendent to create Job Plan and Schedule
  • Prepare material orders and confirm quotes from suppliers
  • Prepare Schedule of Values to comply with project goals by deadlines
  • Ensure Permits, Certificate of Insurance, and Bonds are ready prior to project start date
  • Generate change orders and submit RFIs within 48 hours of notice
  • Review and approve invoices, job costs, and project budgets, work collaboratively with Accounting
  • Communicate with Customers and Contractors promptly (within 24 hours)
  • Verify and submit all Project Closeout documents, and ensure the warranty is paid promptly.
  • Assist with all aspects of project and branch logistics including travel arrangements, badge requests, site staging plans, material delivery and performance schedules, etc.
  • Process online project applications with Suppliers and Manufacturers
  • Lead detailed, clear and accurate  updates in weekly project performance meetings, PM meetings, and Operations meetings.
  • Participate in onsite roofing activities and warehouse operations to gain experience and
    knowledge.


Requirements:

  • Construction Management or Project Management degree 
  • 10 years of related experience within the construction industry
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • OSHA 30 or ability to obtain
  • Possess and maintain valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle for transportation
  • Experience with Federal Prime Contracts
  • Ability to read/interpret architectural plans, specifications, solicitations, and contracts
  • Excellent understanding of job safety requirements
  • Computer systems proficiency such as RMS, P6 Primavera, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, and various Project Management Software (Procore, BIM360, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Creative problem solver
  • Analytical and detailed oriented
  • Time Management--great time management; able to prioritize and meet deadlines


This position is primarily an indoor office environment with routine field site visits.  It requires the use of hands and vision for work with computer and detailed contracts and spreadsheets, prolonged sitting.  Additionally it requires ability to move freely (walking, bending, ladder climbing, etc.) to visit field sites.  This job will require some work at elevated heights (rooftops).  Some projects may require overtime and/or weekend hours.
