This role is an office hybrid role and based at our Louisville, KY headquarters.

What the Role Is

The Senior Planning & Forecasting Analyst will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our whiskey inventory, as well as providing strategic financial analysis and planning support. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of inventory management, and a passion for the distilled spirits industry.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and ensure product availability
  • Monitor whiskey inventory levels across multiple warehouses and production facilities, identifying potential risks and opportunities
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and commercial teams to forecast demand and ensure inventory availability
  • Monitor and report on current aging spirit inventories and work with business partners to address any planned excess or shortages
  • Maintain the long-term whiskey, brandy, and wine forecasts
  • Work with IT team to improve and develop reporting that enhances our ability to monitor and effectively utilize our aging inventory
  • Prepare periodic forecast surveys for all whiskeys, brandy, and wine
  • Provide regular updates to leadership
  • Develop Distillery Production Plans
  • Make recommendations to leadership and brand teams on changes needed to optimize inventory and product mix to better align with corporate objectives
  • Monitor Barrel Fill and Yield metrics
  • Work with operations on warehouse planning
  • Develop whiskey inventory models that allow for scenario planning and optimize the use of aging inventories
  • Maintain inventory reporting and relationships and with bulk customers and suppliers

Who You Are…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Logistics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ work-related experience in business analysis, finance, inventory management, or a related area
  • Experience in financial or operational analysis, logistics, research, audit, and problem solving
  • Excellent critical thinking skills - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Analytical skills, in particular gathering data from a wide variety of sources and presenting it in formats suitable for a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external contacts, including corporate, field personnel, and distributors
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office tools and products, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Passion and personal accountability for maintaining high standards in his/her work
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual
  • Proven history of process improvement

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in business, Finance, Logistics, or related field
  • Previous experience in the distilled spirits, or consumer products industries
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Heaven Hill uses RStudio Team for data science and advanced analytics. If a candidate has experience with the R or Python programming language, they could also utilize this platform to further empower their work

  • Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel requirements: This position is based in Louisville, KY. Some travel may be required.
