Engineers in this role accomplish business objectives by monitoring system functions from all points of system processing, identifying, and assisting in solving processing problems. They will also execute system configuration, transformations, and data mapping. The engineer works closely with internal partners to provide technical assistance on products and services, department reporting and process trending. They are responsible for utilizing internal data sources to perform in-depth research and analysis on client data inquiries, execute a varying level of implementation functions such as testing new file extracts, provide defect and enhancement support to development and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in code deployment and new client system implementations, including data transfer and user administration.
- Collaborate with database programmers and QA analysts to test, clean, and standardized data to meet the business requirements.
- Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues
- Participates in and supports all planning and problem resolution
- Have the confidence to work cross-functionally with various departments including business stakeholders and technical personnel to exchange ideas
- Work with product and technical teams to understand the business requirements and build scalable and sustainable enterprise reporting solutions.
- Demonstrate through proof of concepts and present them to stakeholders. Formulate and provide recommendations. Promote Self-Service BI.
- Mentor, develop and train team members and end users
- Assists in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision making, efficiency and performance
- Works collaboratively with technical staff and reporting officials to resolve data discrepancies and/or to clarify reporting procedures
- Builds effective partnerships with coworkers throughout the organization by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed
- Processes data extracts using data retrieval and management tools
- Assists with other duties as assigned

- Ability to work well independently or in a team environment
- Maintains an accurate and comprehensive inventory of data, data systems, data architecture, and data storage
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering in IT/ Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Systems preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience, or knowledge of, data aggregation and linking.
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry and/or data (enrollment, medical claims, and drug claims data) a plus.
- 2+ years of working knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Vertica, etc.) and experience using SQL, PL/SQL or other data integration/ETL tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
- Ability to analyze data with a high level of detailed accuracy and identify root causes of issues using queries.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of coding and ability to follow best practices while developing and deploying codes.
- Ability to use presentation, word processing, and database or spreadsheet software
- Conduct application testing and provide database management support
- Experience working with large data
- Knowledge in relational database design
- Strong healthcare analysis background and experience preferred
Job Demands:
- Remote based role - US only
- Normal working hours Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM MT preferred
- Position does require on-call schedule (1 weekend every 6-7 weeks)
Base compensation ranges from $75,000 to $105,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is based remotely, and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
