Summary

Blakemore Children’s Center is urgently looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Preschool Cook! Do you enjoy working with children and love to cook? This could be a great fit for you!

Blakemore serves approximately 40 children ages 6 weeks-5 years .
Typical work shift is Monday to Friday 8:00-2:00

Duties

Our Cook is responsible for all food-related services for the Center. This includes:

Preparing nutritionally balanced, attractive family-style meals and snacks for children and staff
Planning the week’s menu and purchasing all food and misc. items needed for the week
Maintaining the kitchen and eating areas in a clean, hygienic, safe and presentable condition
Occasionally aid in the supervision of children during meals or snack or to assist in the classroom in case of an emergency

Requirements

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), must be able to pass a background and abuse registry check, and must be eligible to work in the United States.
Relevant experience in a childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, school cafeteria or its equivalent preferred
Possess knowledge of basic principles of good nutrition
Ability to plan, shop, prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks
Experience with the USDA/CACFP Food Program preferred
