Project Accountant role

Reporting to the Controller, the Project Accountant will be a member of the Accounting team supporting the exceptional delivery of project EPC and O&M services to our customers. The role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financials by maintaining overall project accounting requirements related to project execution activities.

Responsibilities will include:

• Establish project set-up within accounting, time management and other systems.
• Liaise with project team to maintain project budgets and variance analysis.
• Ensure project POs and change orders are recorded properly across systems.
• Oversee project cashflow schedule, incorporate project updates within master accounting cashflow.
• Support project accounting AP review with accounting and project teams.
• Record monthly client invoicing utilizing client preferred documents, including AIA G702 / G703 pay applications.
• Ensure project accounting document compliance, tracking internal and 3rd party lien waivers.
• Act as the main point of contact for COI requests.
• Assist Procurement Manager with vendor document compliance.
• Supply technical accounting and transaction information to line manager.
• Produce accurate and timely accounting reports and present the results to the Controller and project teams.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Follow financial standards, internal controls, and accounting processes.
• Recognize errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
• Provide input into department and personal goal setting.

Required Hard Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in project accounting.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP required.
• Must be very proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized.
• Desired experience with Sage Intacct, or similar ERP System.
• Preferred background in a related industry: energy, construction, real estate development.
