Job Description:
Client is looking for an experienced hands-on Controls Engineer responsible for supporting the integration and development of applications and solutions. This individual will support throughout all lifecycle phases and will focus on improving production and efficiency throughout plant operations.
Skills: maintenance and reliability engineering focus with CMMS implementation and administration is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Work with manufacturing teams to architect, design, prototype, analyze, test, and maintain automation products, systems, and components.
· Identify, define, plan, and gather requirements for systems improvement opportunities by communicating with cross-functional teams.
· Configure and program software systems to integrate legacy systems.
· Optimize manufacturing processes, including process control, set-up, changeover, automation, new equipment selections, and manufacturing workflow improvements.
· Ensure project status, changes, and process improvements are recorded and communicated.
· Review project implementation for compliance, company standards, requirements, and related specifications. Calculate and provide forecasts to support these.
· Write necessary documentation, from requirements (e.g., functional, performance, usability, and safety) to system behavior and usage (e.g., system interface, automation, usage).
· Ability to Self-direct on projects.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
· 5+ years of experience in production automation and controls.
· Maintenance and reliability engineering focus with CMMS implementation and administration.
· Ability to analyze and create estimates and forecasts for materials, designs, and changeovers.
· Ability to support cross-functional team goals by gathering requirements, implementing solutions, and testing for optimization.
· Expert knowledge in PLC programming.
· Experience in HMI Programming.
· Experience in SolidWorks.
· Familiar with 6-axis robot programming.
· Familiar with Machine vision principles.
· Experience with data collection.
· Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and does not now or in the future require sponsorship for visa status.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related engineering field preferred.
· SQL knowledge preferred.
· Adhesive experience.
