EDUCATION: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) Approved program; precious Certification as a Vaccines for Children Coordinator

WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in Vaccines for Children

JOB SUMMARY:

The LVN will provide safe, compassionate nursing support and be a patient safety advocate for patients seeking service at HOPE clinic. The LVN will function within the legal parameters and scope of practice for an LVN and function within the policy and procedure guidelines of HOPE clinic. The multi-site LVN will be a clinical leader for Medical Assistants at 5 locations. The LVN will model quality care of pediatric, family, and obstetric patients. The home base for the LVN will be at 7001 Corporate Dr. Ste #120 in Houston.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as vaccination coordinator for the Vaccine for Children’s (VFC) Program and point person for Immtrac Vaccine Registry.
• Serve as a clinical trainer to Medical Assistants at 5 clinic sites observing clinical competencies and checking off skills: training on Infection Control, Patient rooming, ambulatory care clinical policies & procedures.
• Supervise Medical Assistants at 5 clinic sites.
• Monitors receipt of labs and submission of reportable disease documentation.
• Assists procurement team with standardizing medical inventory.
• Participates in auditing infection control, CLIA quality control, emergency supply kits, and MA clinical documentation.
• As needed, assists with patient care, medical procedures, patient screening (vital signs, vision & hearing, point of care tests, patient flow throughout clinic) and patient discharge utilizing age-appropriate care.
• Participates in quality assurance projects.
• Attend on-site/off-site community engagement activities, clinic events, and/or training as needed;
• Perform other duties as assigned to support HOPE Clinic’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Licenced as (LVN), (BLS)
• Certification as Vaccines for Children
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
• Supply and Inventory

• Communication Skills
• Analytical

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Bilingual (Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, and/or Spanish with English) is preferred.
• Above average skills in language ability as well as public speaking and writing.
• Must have good transportation and a valid Texas Driver’s license.
