Night Shift - Finishing Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY
The Finishing Shift Supervisor will be responsible for daily supervision in a multi-shift 24/7 production environment. Under the direction of the Finishing Manager/Assistant Manager, the Finishing Supervisor will lead production teams towards the achievement of safety, quality and production goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Executes shift level management of shift under guidance of the Finishing Operations Manager/Assistant Finishing Manager
- Review payroll records for accuracy and submit changes to HR Manager
- Conduct interviews for department openings
- Assist with project management
- Attend meetings as needed.
- Assist with addressing production issues.
- Coordinates, directs, and evaluates the activities of manufacturing team members
- Implements & conducts training for quality and safety throughout the production area
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and safety with maintenance and production members
- Track, analyze, and report performance of designated shift.
- Develop and implement improvement plans for efficiency, quality, safety, and cost
- Ensure that production demand is met and customer orders are filled.
- Ensures accurate process, production and inventory data are captured and monitored and maintained
- Have a working knowledge of procedures and processes in an Quality system
- Responsible for supervising, training, motivating and developing employees
- Communicate and work with other departments throughout the facility
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises 18+ employees in the Finishing Department.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED; or related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- 3 years of supervisory experience preferred in a 24/7 multi shift manufacturing operation
- Previous experience in a high speed converting or packaging operation preferred
- Demonstrated competence in supervising 18+ employees
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- The ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications and production schedules
- Must be able to enter data into computerized ERP system and manual work orders
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reasoning ability – the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work independently and take appropriate corrective action when minor problems arise
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule: hours & days to accommodate multiple shifts

The employee must occasionally reach, grasp, bend and twist or rotate body. The employee may occasionally push/pull carts of approximately 1,000 pounds.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Due to the nature of the work performed in this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses, safety gloves when needed, and ANSII approved steel or composite toed footwear.
