  • Content Management: Ensure grant content is accurate, clear, and aligned with donor interests to effectively communicate the organization's mission.
  • Calendar Management: Manage the grant solicitation and reporting calendar and conduct research to identify potential funding sources.
  • Representation: Serve as a passionate advocate for the organization when meeting with funders.
  • Communication: Maintain open channels of communication with the VP of Advancement and program staff to address needs, issues, and opportunities.
  • Reporting: Facilitate comprehensive reporting processes for the Advancement team and oversee the annual report process for private grants.
  • Equity Commitment: Uphold the organization's commitment to racial equity in all aspects of work.
  • Collaboration: Contribute to department-wide projects as needed and attend relevant meetings.
  • Resource Utilization: Utilize institutional resources to effectively manage donors, prospects, and volunteers.
  • Prospect Research: Conduct research to identify prospects for major gifts and develop strategies to match their interests with fundraising priorities.
  • Stewardship: Collaborate on stewardship initiatives and oversee staff hiring, training, and development.
  • Adaptability: Adapt to additional duties as required by the organization's needs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of foundation and corporate philanthropy, including trends and funding communities.
  • Proven success in relationship-building, donor cultivation, and securing support from foundations and corporations.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management, prioritization, and meeting grant deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate funding needs persuasively.
