Summary/Objective

Oversight of key components of company's overall business development and logistics strategy, focusing specifically on customer goals and service portfolios as laid out in commercial and strategic plans. Manage the company’s business development activities in the Americas region, including commercial activities for operating companies based in the United States and Mexico.

Essential Functions

  • Key member of team responsible for directing company's overall commercial strategy, specifically customer account goals and service portfolio development.
  • Lead account management for multiple OEM relationships with particular emphasis on High & Heavy and POV cargo via relationships with ocean carriers.
  • Focus on commercial revenue and volume growth strategy through customer diversification, service scope, territorial expansion, and revenue enhancement.
  • Identify profitability enhancing business development opportunities within the supply chain and in areas adjacent to AMPORTS’ core business.
  • Ensure commercial strategy is aligned as much as possible between various markets, customers and company departments.
  • Liaise with local operations management in various markets on commercial activities and set the agenda to achieve defined goals.
  • Assist with setting the structure and implementation of the company’s CRM.
  • Support IT Data Quality improvement processes leading to improved KPIs, operational efficiencies and commercial profitability.
  • Evaluate and analyze M&A opportunities in cooperation with CFO and the C-suite.
  • ESG reporting and infrastructure innovation with grants investigation to increase company value.
  • Mentor and support AMPORTS’ future leaders.
  • Lead delivery of commercial / market analytics for identified business development projects.
  • Ensure company is always represented as a quality leader within the supply chain.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct reports.

Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor/indoor shop environment, or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, in office position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require overtime. AMPORTS supports a hybrid working environment with ability to work from home 1 day per week subject to supervisor approval.

Travel

Moderate to extensive overnight travel (25% - 40%) by land and/or air.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Logistics Management or equivalent; and 3 years’ experience in Maritime, Transportation, Automotive and/or Logistics industries.

Preferred Education and Experience

Master's degree (M. A., MBA) or equivalent and 7 years’ experience in Maritime, Transportation, Automotive and/or Logistics industries.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Credential).
