Company: CDI Engineering Solutions Position: Construction Coordinator Location: Midland, MI Start Date: September 2022 Position Summary: Instrument & Electrical Construction Quality Specialist working on a wide variety of tasks in the field on a construction site, within an operating plant, and in an office setting. Requires good communication skills and problem-solving skills. Must work well on a team and understand the importance of electrical quality in an industrial capital project setting. Position Responsibilities: Apply the use of construction safety best practices and incident and injury free safety culture and have a passion for outstanding EH&S performance. Ability to read and understand complex construction, specifications, details, isometric, shop and vendor drawings as well as Piping and Instrument Diagrams Plan and coordinate work in a logical sequence Good Understanding of instrument and electrical work practices as they relate to the chemical manufacturing industry. Good understanding of the authority of codes having jurisdiction. Such as National Electrical Code Knowledge of principles of NFPA70E: electrical safety in the workplace Knowledge of critical construction quality requirements for electrical installations Organized and able to work on multiple projects/contracts concurrently Position Qualifications: Work outside in potentially inclement conditions Climb stairs in multiple levels of a process area Prior chemical or heavy industry experience Thorough understanding of instrument and electrical systems. Basic understanding of piping, mechanical, electrical, civil/structural construction Familiar with QA/QC programs Demonstrating competencies in the areas of: leadership, initiative, teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness and conflict resolution. Ensuring a safe work environment by working safely and, complying with environmental, health and safety standards Strong work ethic and being able to remain productive in an empowered team environment and well as individually. Work with CM to help resolve electrical request for information (RFI) issues.

Verify the contractors' implementation of their project QC plan, identify deficiencies and work with the Contractor QCI or Construction Manager to correct, if necessary. Work with construction team to initiate any required 'request for variance' and/or management of change Ensure that installation is according to Dow specifications and contract drawings. Enter Non-Conformance Reports in the Quality Data Base and work with Quality Specialists to resolve.

Working knowledge of the following: Understand clearing procedures for electrical equipment: Master tag system, individual tags, pulling of fuses: when to pull, when not to, Air gap: When required, protective grounds, Facility Electrical Representative's role, awareness of multiple energy sources. Understand turnover of systems to operations: Checklists for equipment turn over, turn-over packages, pre-commissioning and start-up, electrical audits prior to turn-over. Raceways and cable trays: Specifications and procedures, supporting, bonding, classified area requirements (sealing), ferromagnetic issues with single conductors Be able to verify fuses and overloads for proper sizing and installation Electrical safe work permits Working in energy systems corridors Familiarization with Process Plants, Maintenance technical Services, operations, and plant personnel before project starts Review drawings, specifications, and details to become familiar with the project. Construction safety awareness, including but not limited to the following: Proper use of GFCIs, protection of extension cords running through doorways, proper placement of work lead for welding. proper use of PPE, proper use of Generators A passion for driving outstanding EH&S performance and developing a zero-incident culture.

To intervene in unsafe behaviors at all levels and across all business and functional boundaries. Education Requirements: Associates Degree in a Construction related field.
