Salary:

LPR International is seeking a Food Service Site Supervisor to support our client based in Bethesda, MD. The Site Supervisor will be on-site and will have the authority to and responsibility for overall performance of the contract to meet the specified performance standards. In the performance of the respective tasks and duties, the Site Supervisor is expected to perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision, interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers, work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments, and work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. 


Essential Functions:

  • Provides services to a variety of patients; possesses a thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition. 
  • Helps Food Service Supervisor plan the use of contract workers, project schedules, resources, and tools on a day to day or project by project basis.
  • Adheres to work priorities and project schedules established by higher level supervisors.
  • Tracks and reports progress on work assignments for contract workers and requests authority to adjust schedules, contractor training, equipment, and materials.
  • Recommends changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences when necessary.
  • Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or helps in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.
  • Observes work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassigns contract personnel in supervised groups and coordinates with other supervisors.
  • Inspects completed work for quality and meeting requirements.
  • Reports possible or actual work delay to Food Service Supervisor.
  • Supports and explains management or contract problems to subordinates.
  • Assists with recruiting and interviewing staff. 
  • Advises and counsels workers on how to improve their performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in food management may be substituted for 5 years of management experience. 
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of three of the last five years, or five or more cumulative years of supervisory experience in a large, high volume cafeteria style/multi-food service operation. Prior experience in a clinical healthcare food service setting is preferred, but not required.  
  • Must have current sanitation certificate (within 4 yrs.).
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the full range of food preparation principles, including the techniques necessary to develop new or revised current recipes and planning use of materials and equipment on a day-to-day basis, ensuring adequate materials and equipment are available for each meal.
  • Must have basic knowledge of diet and nutrition. 
  • Must be skilled in providing good "Customer Service". 
  • Must be skilled in organization and time management, to include the skills necessary to plan and schedule work assignments in conjunction with contract needs. 
  • Must be familiar with the various audible and light signals of each piece of semiautomatic equipment and able to react in an appropriate manner to each signal; be able to remove empty detergent containers and replace them correctly and replace them correctly with the filled containers. 
  • Must have strong ability to use judgment and discretion when working with various levels within and outside of organization. 
  • Must be able to make adjustments in procedures and sequence of operations as necessary to accomplish work effectively and economically. 
  • Must have familiarity with basic computer equipment, office equipment, and Microsoft Office Suite.       


    Environmental:

    • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. 
    • Ability to lift items weighing up to (75) pounds. 
    • Ability to stoop, reach, bend, twist and carry equipment. 
    • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or uncomfortable areas. 
    • Ability to employ hand dexterity in the use of equipment. 
    • Ability to handle moderate noise typical of a cafeteria setting. 
    • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
