OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB


Plan, schedule, and monitor project human resources based on project demands for the enterprise’s portfolio of consulting projects


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with operational leaders to make recommendations for resourcing projects based on client requirements, including competencies and project scope, logistics, capacity, and other factors
  • Utilize various systems and platforms to create, allocate, and maintain project resource schedules for the enterprise’s portfolio of projects
  • Alert lead consultant/project manager(s) of schedule changes, including team member absences, coverage plans, and project delays in a timely manner
  • Compile data reports for operational meetings on a weekly basis, and/or more frequently as necessitated by project demands
  • Assist business development, lead consultants, managing directors, and/or human resources with forecasts needed to initiate open requisitions
  • Recommend common standards for data input, database management, maintenance, and internal/external report generation related to project resource management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and system owners to implement dashboards, reports, systems, and/or new platforms for schedule, capacity planning, and/or portfolio management
  • Assists with input relative to the creation of work breakdown structures (WBS), PERT charts, and critical paths based on proposals and contracts that adhere to client, service, and delivery requirements
  • Develop and maintain key enterprise project management artifacts and visual representations, as directed using a variety of platforms and techniques (e.g., roadmaps, Gantt, risk registers, flowcharts, etc.)
  • Coordinate a crosswalk of milestones and interdependencies among projects and/or functional areas
  • Assist in the design and development of a project resource skills matrix relevant to project execution
  • Assist in the development of project management training for key stakeholder groups
  • Collaborate with human resources, enterprise business system administrators, project leaders, and other stakeholders to create and/or improve databases, systems, and business processes to support project resource management function

  • Knowledge of project management concepts, methodologies, principles, and practices
  • Exhibited ability to manage project resource schedules with up to twenty-five (25) assigned, variable resources, on any given project across an enterprise portfolio of 120+ projects
  • Ability to efficiently manage project resource scheduling in a fast-paced environment with similar scope, size, and complexity
  • Excellent organization, planning, and forecasting skills, with capability of expeditious pivoting to meet changing project needs and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability in building effective working relationships with project team members, stakeholders, executive leadership, and supporting organizations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources, Management Information Systems, or other business and/or industry-related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management function/role with majority of experience from professional services and/or consulting industries

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, proposals, standard operating procedures, and manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, employees or organization

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY


Proficient use of project management and enterprise resource planning software, including:

  • Hive, Jira, Trello, and/or similar
  • NetSuite ERP, and/or similar

Must be proficient in using the following programs:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • SharePoint
  • Teams
  • Visio
  • Outlook

Ability to learn new platforms, as needed, including Paylocity HRMS, Keap CRM, Proposify proposal management, etc.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear and participate in frequent phone calls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to perform extensive computer work, and to read written and printed materials.

The position may be allowed to sometimes work virtually, from home. While working at home, the person is required to maintain a work environment that is free from any distractions, such as childcare responsibilities or other personal responsibilities which could inhibit the person's ability to be fully focused and work full-time during scheduled work hours.
