Job Description

Position Summary

The Marketing, Communications, and E-Commerce Manager is responsible for the tactical implementation of the marketing strategy to maximize the exposure of the property across all distribution and communication channels to drive room revenue and ensure an optimal return on investment. This position helps execute and coordinate the strategy for guest communication, digital marketing efforts, database and email marketing, and PR efforts to continually optimize brand consistency, the guest experience, conversion, incremental revenues, guest retention, and guest loyalty for the property and the brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and consult on the consistent application of The Allison Inn & Spa branding on all marketing, communication, and media in conjunction with the PR agency and Hotel management company.
  • E-Commerce: Execute digital campaigns, in partnership with hotel management, digital marketing, and revenue management and distribution where applicable, to support the hotel’s strategic marketing plan including email, paid media, social media, online listings, etc. Track and analyze success of marketing campaigns and work with the Director of Sales, General Manager, management company, and digital marketing to adjust marketing strategies and budgets where needed based on performance metrics.
    • Monitor performance of e-marketing and guest engagement campaigns. Present recommendations to enhance performance.
  • UGR (User Generated Reviews): Monitor and respond to all Guest Surveys and Online Reviews posted on Platforms like Google, Tripadvisor, and other relevant review sites, as well as respond to Revinate Guest Surveys and detail constructive operational suggestions while relating relevant information to management by department or to human resources in anticipation of employee recognition or needed follow up.
  • Work with agency partners on the implementation of the online campaign (website, social media, etc.) and ensure all relevant communication is available and current on property websites.
  • Utilize digital media as a catalyst for exposure, increased awareness, and sales and revenue opportunities.
  • Social Media: Manage and coordinate social media marketing strategy in partnership with the Executive Committee, Management Company, Digital Marketing, and PR to develop brand awareness, and generate inbound traffic. Ensure social media strategy and tactics are consistent with brand voice across all platforms.
  • Project Management: Execute marketing initiatives as directed and meet deliverables for production timeline and budget.
  • Website Content: Coordinate on management of social and relevant aspects of the Hotel website content and third-party partner sites including upkeep of images, videography, operational hours, offers and / or promotions following brand standards and legal and security requirements. Content should always be current.
  • Third Party Site Management: Maintain imagery and content within third-party sites, including but not limited to Expedia, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, and Consortia partners, in conjunction and coordination with management company and digital marketing team
  • Content & Asset Management: In conjunction with management company and digital marketing team, maintain digital asset library with current, approved brand materials including logos, templates, images, and copy. Provide recommendations for new content and mediums based on any outside client needs, analytics, and competitor research. Coordinate production of new assets including photo & video shoots as needed.
  • Collateral: Manage Hotel collateral and sales collateral and ensure alignment with brand standards and positioning, both in print and digital.
  • Brand consistency: Ensure brand messaging is consistently in line with our brand identity elements, core values, and customer experience. Follow style guides
  • Reporting: Produce and analyze reports that track ROI and KPIs for the department.
  • Industry Research: Coordinate ongoing industry research including competitive set. Detect market trends and present insights and recommendations to the team for new sales and marketing tactics.
  • Vendor Management: Ensure quality and timeliness of work performed by contracted vendors (PR Agency, Website designer, etc).
  • Participate in departmental meetings, when needed.
  • Maintain communication with Executive team and/or Management company as needed.
  • Promote the organization in and out of industry and at relevant events and trade associations.
  • Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, and owners.
  • Operate ethically to protect The Allison Inn & Spa and owners.
  • Ensure brand and business initiatives are implemented.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.
  • Champions and adheres to the Allison “Roots” mentality and mission statement goals.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in hospitality management, including 3 years in a marketing and e-Commerce role.
  • Degree/diploma in Hospitality Management, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides knowledge, skills, and ability sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the position.

  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously without being overwhelming.
  • Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
  • Strong communication and listening skills and excellent speaking, reading, and writing ability.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing.
  • Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite, CRM, etc) hotel-specific platforms (Maestro, Delphi, Silverware, Revinate, etc.) and Social Media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customer interactions and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Fluency in English.

General Job Information

  • Hours – Standard office hours of Monday – Friday with weekend/holiday availability when needed, especially during VIP events.
  • Pay – Exempt Pay rate is based on education, skills and experience.
  • Clear Background Check/Drug Screening (excluding THC)
