Electrical Journeyman

OVERVIEW:

Fredricks Electric Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Journeyman, whose primary function include installing new electrical systems, repairing existing electrical systems and supporting activities at commercial, industrial, instatutional and residential locations while maintaining compliance with National, State and Local Electrical Codes and in concurrence with Fredricks Electric’s policies and proceedures. Other responsibilities include organizing and planning construction projects, directing work, inspecting installations for quality, making sure code standards are met and ensuring job safety. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-          Achieve company productivity objectives by effectively providing leadership for assigning tasks to crew members while maintaining an accurate labor tracking log.

-          Manage purchase orders and ensure ordered materials are received and logged.

-          Adhere to project contract document changes / RFI’s and AUR’s.

-          Ability to read and understand blue prints.

-          Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite and used to perform required work.

-          Utilize a proactive approach to anticipate and resolve potential issues.

-          Ensure crew members start and finish work shift on time; Maintain proper meal/break times as per Employee Handbook and as legally required per local labor laws and regulations.

-          Maintain complete and accurate “as-built” as per company procedures and project requirements.

-          Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including project owners, architects, general contractors, management, crew members, etc.

-          Ensure all work performed meets with NEC, federal, state, county, local codes and contract documents.

-          Adhere to all Fredricks Electric Inc., State and Federal safety policies and procedures.

-          Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers and vendors.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

-          Must hold a current Journeyman / Master Electrician Wireman license (California).

-          Trained Electrical Apprenticeship Program Graduate with Certificate a plus. 

-          Ability to install power systems: lighting, fire protection, security, and data network.

-          Ability to build and install control panels and provide maintenance to systems.

-          Experience using Electrical Single Line blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.

-          Experience finding and repairing faults in electrical apparatus and circuits.

-          Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations.

-          Experience helping with the management of a project and crew.

-          Ability to manage material estimates.

-          Demonstrate strong leadership and pre-planning abilities.

-          Valid driver's license in state of practice.

-          Reliable transportation To and From work.

-          LiveScan Finger Printing / Background Check for school and government projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

-          Lift 100 lbs from ground and pull 100 lbs of force.

-          Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling and conduit pulling.

-          Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 30 lb tool belt.

-          Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.

-          Work off of ladders, man lifts or reach booms.

-          Work in a variety of weather conditions including cold, snow, rain, heat, etc.
