Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced civil litigation Legal assistant and/or Paralegal to ensure effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of a Partner attorney. We are plaintiff's firm representing individuals injured from motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall, medical malpractice and mass torts. A minimum of five years personal injury experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to lawyers
• Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
• Administratively support trials
• Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony
• Conduct research
• Locate and develop case relevant information
• Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
• Maintain contact lists
• Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
• Prepare, file and serve complaints
• Prepare and serve discovery on opposing counsel

Skills

• Proven working experience as a paralegal and/or legal assistant
• Familiarity with general legal procedures and procedures within Pennsylvania
• Complete familiarity with Philadelphia Court's e-filing and Federal Courts' Pacer e-filing systems
• Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
• Excellent computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of case management software
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
• Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal certification or diploma preferred
