Caster Engineer

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Support the Technical aspects of Slab and Billet Caster

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
01) Provide Technical support on productivity improvements
02) Provide Technical support on troubleshooting casting deficiencies
03) Correspond Casting Information to Process Performance
04) Project development and follow-up on casting improvements
05) Audit processes and practices to ensure repeatability

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Other duties as assigned by casting supervisor or melt shop manager.
2. Participation in continuous improvement programs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· BS in Materials Engineering/Metallurigcal Engineering
· Casting Experience preferred
· Fluent with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word - other related statistical support software

PHYSICALABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Communication abilities.
· Mobility in plant.
· While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk
and sit.
· The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with
hands and arms.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
· Visual ability with or without correction.

3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager
immediately.
4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:
· Safety shoes
· Safety glasses
· Hearing protection
· Hard Hat
5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
and Regulations or Company policy.
6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
2. Clean, well ventilated and safe work areas.
