Company – CleanFiber, a High-Growth Green Building Materials Company

Location – The company is based in Buffalo, NY with planned nationwide expansion. Candidates for this role should be based in or willing to relocate to Buffalo, NY.

Role & Compensation

You will play a crucial role in supporting our Controller and VP, Finance in the managing of accounting operations. On joining the organization, you will take responsibility for:

• Reconcile cash activity on a regular basis
• Reconcile and maintain schedules relating to compliance items, insurance, sales tax, fixed assets, and leases
• Perform month end close in accordance with internal close schedule
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies, ensuring proper documentation and supporting schedules
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed and act as a backup to other accounting functions
• Play a critical role in helping prepare the organization for a potential future IPO
• Support the roll-out of multiple production facilities across the US

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include reasonable current compensation along with a meaningful equity stake in a venture with very significant upside.

Requirements

The right candidate will bring deep experience in these areas:

• Standards: Strong familiarity with GAAP standards and financial reporting. Preferred experience with design and implementation of ERP system
• Experience Across a Range of Scales and Vantage Points: We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with the high paced environment of a disruptive startup, but can understand the mindset of large and small counterparts as we rapidly scale
• Hands on Accounting Experience: Proven ability to execute effectively and efficiently on accounting initiatives (e.g., defining chart of accounts, implementing revenue recognition, creating and maintaining financial dashboards, implementing process and procedures to help with quick month/year end closes, etc.)
• Technical Skills – advanced excel user with deep analytics capability
• Educational Requirements: BS in Accounting or related field
• Experience in a manufacturing business: Highly Preferred

Nice-To-Have Experience:

• 5+ years related accounting experience
• Experience in a high growth environment
• Good working knowledge of NetSuite
• CPA
