Chemical Operator I

Glendora Employment Agency, Inc. specializes in bringing local job seekers together with local employers. We are currently seeking a Chemical Operator I for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Azusa.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the handling and operation of various equipment to process Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients following cGMP Batch Records and SOPs. The operator will monitor the entire manufacturing process to ensure the chemical process runs efficiently.

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

·       Perform production-related activities under the direct supervision of a qualified Production Employee (Chemical Operator II or higher). Production related activities include:

o   Cleaning of facility

o   Cleaning of equipment

o   Raw material preparation

o   Reactor operations

o   Centrifuge operations

o   Drying equipment operations

o   Packaging operations

o   DI water system operation

·       Operate chemical process equipment utilizing hazardous chemicals.

·       Read and follow SOPs and document tasks performed clearly.

·       Operate Material Handling Equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.) as assigned.

·       Perform periodic inventory counts as required.

·       Interface with other departments as needed.

·       Comply with company safety policies (PPE usage, etc.).

·       Comply with good documentation and housekeeping policies.

·       Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidates should possess the following skills/qualifications demonstrated through previous work experience:

·       Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

·       Prior experience as a chemical operator highly preferred but not required.

·       Knowledge of cGMPs.

·       Ability to work with Acids, Bases and Hazardous Chemicals.

·       Ability to pass a background check.

·       Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

·       Must be able to work overtime as required.

·       Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook)

·       Must have mechanical aptitude.

Position: Temp-to-Hire

Shift: Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 2:30pm

Salary: $23/hour
