General Summary

The IT Applications Analyst III is a senior role responsible for the oversight and advanced management of business-critical applications and systems. This position leads in the planning, implementation, and improvement of software solutions that support the bank’s operations. The Analyst III will also mentor junior analysts and work closely with IT management to align technological capabilities with business strategies.

Essential Functions

  • Leadership in System Enhancements and Integration: Lead complex projects involving the integration of new software with existing systems. Ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for escalated issues. Develop strategies to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and execute long-term strategies for software and system enhancements. Lead the evaluation of new technologies and make recommendations based on business needs and technological advancements.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and standardize IT policies and procedures related to software application usage, security, and maintenance.
  • Vendor Management and Negotiation: Serve as the primary point of contact for major software vendors. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relations to ensure service levels are met and costs are controlled.
  • Advanced Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to monitor system performance and generate reports for management. Make data-driven recommendations for system improvements.
  • Must be able to proficiently manage projects, overseeing timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure efficient implementation and optimization of software applications within the organization. Coordinate with stakeholders, prioritize tasks, and navigate potential obstacles to achieve project objectives effectively.

Minimum Level of Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in application analysis, design, and support, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven experience with complex project management and strategic planning in an IT environment.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of business system operations and capability to use a wide range of tools and technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • In-depth experience with database management and data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations relevant to banking and financial services.
