About the Role

The Security Systems Designer will be based out of our Vancouver office and will be responsible for completing projects independently by applying their knowledge and management skills to projects, from conceptual design through to completion, for new construction, tenant improvement, and renovation projects. The primary focus of the position would be the design of security systems including IP Video Surveillance, Access Control, Panic Duress and Intrusion Detection systems. There maybe future  opportunities to expand into audiovisual, telecommunications, and smart building design. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Management of a variety of technology-focused projects, such as offices, , schools, universities, healthcare, retail, airports, transit facilities, residential, and mixed-use facilities.
• Preparation of detailed drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of division 27 and 28 requirements.
• Coordinate team members. 
• Construction administration, as appropriate.
• Knowledge of CPTED principles would be an asset.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Our Must Haves:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Certificate or associate degree in computer sciences or electrical engineering; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid BC Security Worker License.
• Knowledge of RPD physical security standards.
• Must be willing and able to pass a security screening (including finger printing).
