Credit Analyst

The role, at a glance:

The Credit Analyst will review the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses to determine the risk involved in extending credit terms.

How you'll contribute:

• Analyzes credit data and financial statements of individuals or businesses to identify the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
• For businesses, compares to similar businesses in terms of liquidity, profitability, and credit histories. Use various credit reports to help assess risks.

• Uses computer software to further evaluate customers' financial status and produce financial ratios.
• Compile information and compose reports detailing the degree of risk involved in extending credit request; recommends approval or denial based on results.
• Resolves customer complaints and verifies transactions through consultation.
• Identifies delinquent accounts through the review of individual or commercial customer files.
• Performs other related collection and accounting duties as assigned.

A successful candidate should have:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge, and skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as analysis software.
• Basic understanding of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies used in credit analysis.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and problems with account reconciliation.

Work Environment:

• Office environment; prolonged sitting and computer use.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
