This is a hybrid, F Band Investments role.

An Investment Operations analyst position responsible for operational functions supporting portfolios managed by Nationwide Investments. The position is responsible for performing a variety of Middle Office functions with a focus on the trading, data management and pricing processes for Public Fixed Income, Private Placements, and Bank Loans.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Front Office Portfolio Managers and Traders to ensure timely, accurate and efficient entry of orders and trades.
  • Provides front line support of Order Management System(s), including Trade Entry Review, broker confirm/affirm and timely communication of completed trades to down stream accounting systems.
  • Works closely with Back-Office Operations to resolve trade and/or data issues.
  • Provides wire support for Front Office asset classes as assigned.
  • Reviews and distributes daily transaction reports and business metrics focusing on data completeness/accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Works with the Data Management and Reporting team to maintain critical reporting data, including: Daily Transaction Reporting, Trade Authorization limits, Trade Reason Codes, Ratings, Exposure, etc.
  • Participates in the Monthly Pricing and Valuation processes, as assigned.
  • Prepares system reconciliations and maintain proper documentation for all core trading systems, including timely research of exceptions and communication of impacts to Management and Front Office Traders.
  • Recommends changes to enhance, build or improve existing controls and procedures using Continuous Improvement methods.

Participates in special projects and other initiatives as assigned.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Investment Professional - Investment Operations - Fixed Income

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or an equivalent field

Experience: 3 or more years' experience in investments, accounting, or equivalent experience within the financial services industry.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: The most important skills/competencies are Effective Verbal/Written Communication, Business Acumen and Technical/Professional Knowledge, including a solid understanding of the investments process and relative security types. Intermediate computer skills and some advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred. Other important skills/competencies include: Action Oriented, Continuous Improvement, Process Management, Priority Focused and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
