Job Description

New Venture Research Corp (NVRC) has an opening for a Senior Systems Administrator with a strong Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) background. The full-time position requires at least a SECRET security clearance and is performed onsite at Camp H.M. Smith in Oahu, HI. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

Managing all aspects of a VDI architecture including the backend core services, VDI management infrastructure, VDI sessions, networking infrastructure, and thin clients.
Troubleshooting and resolving network and system issues.
Monitor active network and server infrastructure.
Assist in coordinating planned network and system outages with all affected parties.
Assist in performing root cause analysis for unplanned outages and reporting appropriately.
Performing preventative maintenance on systems and equipment.
Understanding of and experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN) and microsegmentation.
Provide local and remote user support.
Produce and maintain engineering, testing, and security documentation and artifacts necessary to meet and maintain government system Configuration Management and Cyber Security requirements.
Make recommendations on improvements to training documentation, training requirements assessments, training briefs, and training systems.

Qualifications:

At least a SECRET security clearance.
Bachelor's degree with a technical focus plus a minimum of 3 yrs experience with VMware product administration.
Understanding of common DOD cyber security tools.
Additional experience with Windows Server and Cisco networking administration.
Ability to communicate technical ideas, issues, and resolutions to non-technical people in a professional manner.
Ability to perform under stress with diplomacy and tact.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
