Electric Motor & Contracting Company, Inc., founded in 1960, is one of the largest independently owned repair facilities for electrical rotating machinery, pumps, and switchgear in the United States. We are conveniently located in Hampton Roads, Virginia just miles from Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

We are currently seeking a CDL Truck Driver.

Job Description:

Pickup and deliver equipment of various sizes/shapes/weights.
Maintain Class B CDL and pass all medical physicals and drug screenings as required by the FMSCA.
Chain and tarp own loads.
Effectively carry out written and verbal instructions.
Competently complete all required paperwork and maintain time records/driver logs (Elogs) as needed.
Perform other tasks as instructed when not on the road. This can include washing vehicles, assisting mechanics, maintenance/cleaning of shop, etc.
Maintain a professional appearance and interact professionally at all times with customers.
Work overtime and weekends as required. Some overnight travel/stays are required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Have Class B CDL with excellent driving record.
Minimum 2 years’ experience driving tandem trucks.
Must be able to obtain Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire.
Must have knowledge of local area (Hampton Roads)
Must be physical able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and be able to climb in/out/around truck beds

NOTE: This position requires drug and background screening.
