Job Description

ORE CONTROL GEOLOGIST

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Geologist will be responsible for the supervision of a drilling rigs.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for ore/waste routing throughout the mine
Ability to map in an underground environment utilizing Deswik digital mapping.
Daily data entry and tracking of production samples for accurate ore/waste routing
Support diamond and RC drilling activities through drill and drill station inspections, validating TD's, surveys, collars, etc.
Geological and geotechnical logging of diamond core
Compile and interpret mapping and assay information in 3-D software and correlate it with existing models
Supervise sample collection for accuracy and consistency, timely delivery to lab
Prepare weekly reports as required; assist with weekly and monthly reconciliation for model performance and impacts to grade

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required
Excellent safety record required
Ability to work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
Previous mining experience preferred
Familiarity with logging diamond core and RC chips preferred
Familiarity with Deswik, Leapfrog, and Acquire software preferred
Able to collect and carry samples up to 20lbs
