Commercial Construction Superintendent

As a Construction Superintendent, you will be playing a critical role in construction projects for Frank Schipper Construction Co. You will work primarily in the field managing and will be asked to work cross-functionally, interfacing with our Project Managers while tracking a project's safety, and schedule. The Construction Superintendent oversees projects and programs, ensuring operations adhere to standards and requirements. Qualifications 5-10+ years of experience managing construction projects in manufacturing/industrial environments Ability to evaluate drawings, validate contractor bids against cost/schedule estimates and review plans for constructability Evaluate, negotiate and assist the Project Manager process change orders, submittals and RFIs 5-10+ years of experience driving the execution of construction projects Ability to evaluate multidisciplinary drawings and coordinate cross functionality to ensure on-time execution Evaluate and develop fragment schedules to aid in completion Familiar with code compliance and building occupancy Architectural and finish plans and specifications Framing and wall type details Civil and structural plans and specifications. Mechanical and electrical, instrumentation and controls systems Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and organization skills Confident in decision making ability and coordinating among key clients Job Requirements: Successfully manage complex contracted and self-performed construction projects Implementing safety policies and regulations Schedule and lead quality control and site safety inspections Develop, maintain, and communicate site logistics and, operational, and execution plans Interface with base build construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams – from install through start of production Direct work in field and track changes both individually and leading or participating in a larger team Work with Architects & Engineers to facilitate constructability & design Coordinating with contractors and suppliers, monitoring the inventory of materials, purchasing supplies according to project requirements, developing reports and conducting inspections Decision-Making Skills - Decision-making involves being able to decide between 2 or more options to reach the best possible outcome in a short amount of time Interpersonal Skills - Interpersonal skills involves being able to communicate efficiently with multiple people regarding your proposed plans and/or ideas on an execution strategy Communication Skills - Communication skills shows that you can relay your thoughts, opinions, and ideas clearly to those around you.
