Director, Faculty Development

University Professor (Associate Professor or Professor)

George Fox University announces a new position as professor and director of faculty development. This person will be tasked with cultivating a vibrant and excellent faculty in the areas of faith integration, teaching, scholarship, and service. The work will be full-time but this person can also contribute to their home discipline in terms of teaching and scholarship as desired and feasible.

Faculty Development Director will oversee/facilitate the following initiatives:

  • Christian Mission & Faith Integration Among All Faculty
  • Oversee New Faculty Experiences (Orientation, Class, Mentoring, Intensives, etc).
  • Assist Faculty in the annual Promotion, Tenure & Sabbatical processes
  • Ongoing Faculty Development Programming and Retreats
  • Faculty Coaching & Instructional Support
  • Collaborate with Faculty Development Committee (Scholarship) & Developmental Grants Office
  • Faculty Development digital resources-online
  • Special projects assigned by the AAO/Executive Deans

Qualifications

  • A doctorate in any discipline
  • Excellent understanding and practice of Christian faith integration
  • Proven-track record as excellent faculty member in areas teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of faculty is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and Rank

Appointment as faculty-administrator at professor level is anticipated. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
