The nursing program at Texas A&M University - Texarkana awards Bachelor of Science degrees (ADN-BSN & Traditional BSN) and Master of Science degrees in Nursing Administration and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The programs are offered face-to-face (Traditional BSN), online (ADN-BSN), and online/hybrid (MSN) and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The nursing programs are part of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) and will be pursuing an aggressive program growth agenda over the next 5 years. These appointments will be for 9-month full time faculty members.

Essential Duties of Job
- Teach courses in the BSN, ADN-BSN, and/or MSN programs in a variety of formats (online, hybrid, face-to-face) including clinical and simulation teaching/supervision.
- Student advisement as assigned
- Actively participate in program development, renewal, and revision
- Perform appropriate levels of service within the university, region, and the profession.
- Work with the Director of Nursing to develop collaborative relationships with local and regional healthcare entities
- Able to seek and participate in independent and/or collaborative extramurally funded projects and research
- In accordance with Texas Board of Nursing, Rules and Regulations relating to Nurse Education, Licensure and Practice (2014), faculty shall be responsible for:
- Supervising student in clinical and experiential learning experiences;
- Supervising all initial nursing procedures performed by the student in the clinical area and ascertaining that the student is competent before allowing the student to perform an actual nursing procedure independently;
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum; and
- Participating in the development, implementation, and enforcement of standards/policies for admission, progression, probation, and dismissal of students, and participating in academic guidance and counseling.
Required Education and Experience
Instructor Rank:
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 4 years of nursing practice experience
- Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent
- Willing to locate in the Texarkana area to be an integral part of the Department of Nursing and the University
Assistant Professor Rank:
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 4 years of nursing practice experience
- Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent
- Terminal degree: PhD, DNP, EdD.
- ABD will be considered but the terminal degree must be awarded by time of appointment
- Willing to locate in the Texarkana area to be an integral part of the Department of Nursing and the University
Preferred Education and Experience (Any rank)
- Experience using Blackboard or similar LMS 9.1
- Experience teaching in a classroom setting and in a clinical setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Current clinical practical experience or teaching equivalent
- Medical-surgical, maternal/child, mental health and/or critical care experience
- A record of professional activities related to nursing or nursing education
- Evidence of research agenda and scholarship
