Accountant - MSC

Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $17 - $19 depending on qualifications

Shift:  8 AM – 5 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing and analyzing general ledger accounts on a monthly basis by meeting and exceeding published corporate deadlines
• Responsible for preparing and analyzing journal entries and assembling the proper supporting documentation in accordance to policy
• Produce and review daily, weekly, monthly or ad hoc reporting through the use of reporting systems/tools as required by client and SOX requirements
• Create/maintain standard operating procedures in accordance to policy
• Support client inquires and information requests within our service level agreement
• Support month end, quarter end and year end closing and other key processing deadlines
• Subject to onsite audits of all tasks requiring process explanation and accountability
• Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining positive team morale
• Actively train on primary and back-up responsibilities
• Conduct hierarchy maintenance
• Perform back-office transactional tasks with high quality, meeting or exceeding data entry requirements

Qualification and Requirements

• Associate’s (2 year) degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required or 2 years of experience in a related field
• Preferred BA/BS (4 year) degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• Preferred 1-2+ years of experience in financial accounting processes or relevant field
• Preferred proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, data analysis and the ability to manipulate large volumes of data
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to complete daily tasks as required
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication in a professional manner
• Experience in Shared Service Center/Outsourcing environment a plus
• Ensure adherence to custom Accounting Policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX); participate in audits as appropriate
• Strong interpersonal skills
