Supply Chain Engineer II - Valves & Fluid Controls

As part of a hardworking team of diverse Supply Chain Engineers, you will enable the application of industry leading Valves & Fluid Controls category technology solutions in the design of ground, launch vehicle, and in space vehicles by rapidly maturing executable requirements for trusted supplier partners.
You will streamline the definition of Valves & Fluid Controls subsystems technical requirements and program scope leading the bridging of the gap from internal program engineering to the supply base capability.
The successful candidate in their work will bring forth continuous improvement opportunities in the standardization of engineering definition, supplier program milestones, and technical risk identification/tracking. The candidate will lead gated reviews at the supplier's facility and be first with boots on the ground facilitating failure investigations and RCCA activity bringing critical schedules back to green.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain Engineering Valves & Fluid Controls category and will impact the application of industry leading technology among critical systems used in all Blue Origin's ground, launch vehicle, and in space programs.

Qualifications:
- B.S. degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, or materials engineering
- 2+ years of directly related experience
- Has worked with product development teams to define, scope, and prioritize design requirements to ensure operational and manufacturing success.
- Experience in hardware development and manufacturing of complex electronic assemblies
- Experience in technical management of suppliers
- Experience in implementation of DFx principles in an outsourced manufacturing environment
- Excellent Communication Skills - Ability to articulate technical problems to non-subject matter experts
- Experience with fault tree analysis and value stream or process flow mapping
- Ability to learn, grow and tackle new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Experience supporting design and manufacturing teams in an aerospace environment, including preparing specifications, test reports, and design substantiation documentation
- Has managed planning and technical aspects of product builds through the full product life cycle
- Has demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and replicating build to print s well as subsystem acquisition best practices across a complex supply chain
- Experience in concurrent design and manufacturing as well as the associated risk management in a highly fluid environment
