Assisted Living Registered Nurse or Experienced LPN

OVERVIEW:
The RN/LPN is responsible for ensuring quality of life and care for all residents in an assigned area in the Health Center. He or she participates in assessment, problem solving, and decision making in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team. The Nurse administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents in his or her assigned area, supervises the Certified Nursing Assistants, and completes required documentation.
JOB RESPNSIBILITIES:
- Administers the correct medication following the five rights of medication administration;
- Documents medications and treatments on appropriate forms;
- Addresses family and resident issues in collaboration with the Unit Manager;
- Observes and reports medication effects and/or adverse reactions;
- Reports unusual occurrences and observed changes in the residents condition to the M.D.;
- Fills out incident reports of unusual occurrences and reports to Unit Manager;
- Reports/endorses on and off with the Charge Nurse &/or Unit Manager at the beginning and end of shift;
- Reports pertinent resident information to the Nursing Assistants;
- Supervises NAC assignments and personnel availability (i.e. breaks, lunch, and other assignments)
- Participates in assessment, problem solving, resident care conferences and discharge planning processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of an accredited school of Nursing or Practical Nursing
- Current Washington RN or LPN license
- Current CPR Certification
- One year of nursing experience (Preferably in Assisted Living or Geriatrics).
The Assisted Living RN or LPN ensures quality of life /quality of care for all residents and functions as part of interdisciplinary team in providing resident care. The LPN or RN also supervises assigned the NAC's during their shift.
