Pay: $23.20 - $29.49 / Hour (dependent on education & experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am - 5:30pm)

General Position Summary

The Adult Residential Services Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership of Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff and all daily service delivery activities for the people living at the assigned 24/7 supported residential group homes. The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the provision of appropriate care for persons with Intellectual/developmental disabilities, to guide and assist them in their development and activities within the home and community life. Additionally, the Residential Supervisor is responsible to assure DSP staff receives the support they need to perform their highest and best work, maintain compliance, maintain customer and parent/guardian satisfaction, and operate the home or program according to the annual operations budget. This position is responsible to ensure the principles of trauma-informed care are integrated into the operations of the assigned programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social science, or a closely related field OR an associate degree in behavioral science, social science, or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience OR high school diploma/GED and four years of human services related experience.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with a driving record that permits coverage under the agency’s corporate auto liability policy, be able to drive company vans to transport customers, and personal automobile liability insurance coverage.
  • Have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Be able to lift up to 65 pounds for a total of up to 130 pounds in a two-person lift.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Support, mentor, train, and supervise DSP staff members.
  • Schedule staff to meet care/ratio needs and requirements; maximize resources and eliminate overtime/Agency usage
  • Documentation proficiency: documentation is objective, accurate, person-centered and of good overall quality, in written and electronic form. Examples are T-Logs, GERs, health tracking, DSP performance documents, training documents, etc.
  • Competencies in the areas of medical support, positive behavior support and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) with the ability to train.
  • Individual Support Plans, Emergency Response Procedures, OAR licensing standards and other state requirements, Self-Determination Principles and Client Rights.
  • Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Communicate effectively with all persons (oral and in writing).
  • Be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prioritize workload, complete tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Drive a full-size passenger van equipped with a wheelchair lift.
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Follow and train established systems.
  • Work on-call duties or after-hour emergencies as necessary.


Essential Position Functions and Key Work Processes


  • Responsible for the successful licensing and maintaining license of the home.
  • Participates in hiring, supporting, training, and terminating staff.
  • Model leadership, self-accountability, and professionalism within their home(s) to support a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for individuals we serve, employees, and visitors.
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates all staff in accordance with agency policy and procedures to ensure high quality of care to individuals served.
  • Responsible for ensuring clear instructions are established for each shift and each shift change meeting.
  • Complete unannounced visits to assigned homes for each shift (including weekends) at least monthly.
  • Monitor compliance of applicable standards to include, but not limited to; state licensing OARs, CCS policies, Program Procedures, and the Individual Support Plan (ISP) for person’s receiving services.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of DSP staff to maximize staffing resources and minimize the use of overtime and external temporary staffing hours.
  • Reconcile customer funds at a minimum of one time per month.
  • Responsible to manage individual’s funds including banking, bill pay, and benefit limits in accordance with the individual’s ISP.
  • Function as a supportive and helpful liaison with family members and ISP team members.
  • Support the coordination of Day Support Activities (DSA) for persons served in partnership with the associated DSA staff members.
  • Ensure all Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) are provided in accordance with the ISP for the people served
  • Model relationship with persons served in a nurturing, consistent, warm, caring, adult-appropriate and professional manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Residential Director.

Secondary Position Functions

  • Ensure customer medication administration is conducted according to agency policy.
  • Ensure documentation regarding progress of each consumer is conducted using approved data collection methods.
  • Ensure assigned home/program maintains a clean and healthy living environment including the reporting and coordinating of maintenance needs.
  • Ensure meal planning and meal preparation in conducted in accordance with dietician orders.
  • Ensure shopping and purchasing activities are completed timely and according to consumer needs and preferences.
  • Ensure planning and execution of regularly scheduled recreational, entertainment, and leisure activities is conducted for people receiving services.

  • Ensure all safety measures as required by OSHA and Catholic Community Services are in compliance during the assigned shift.

  • Treat all people with dignity and respect, not engaging in any discriminatory behavior, and support the program’s operational goals.
  • Act as a team lead including, but not limited to, training, orienting and supporting existing and new DSP staff members.
  • Perform personal care activities with all customers as needed including but not limited to personal hygiene care, brushing teeth, brushing hair, bathing/showering, toileting, changing adult incontinence pads, feeding (oral and gastric tube-if prescribed), dressing.
  • Use a solution focused/problem solving approach when conducting agency business.
  • Provide and maintain professional, respectful, honest and compassionate communication with all persons while representing CCS.
  • Use, model, and promote the use of trauma-informed care while supporting the assigned residential shift.

Job Complexity

  • Large variety of tasks all related to ensuring the provision of high-quality care for people with developmental disabilities as well as high-quality support to DSP staff members.
  • Assists in the professional and interpersonal development of DSP staff members
  • Assists in development, implementation, and monitoring ISP activities.
  • Conduct, oversee and monitor a variety of documentation through electronic systems
