Position Details
As a member of Catapult's Marketing and Engagement team, the Multimedia Design Specialist must be a compelling visual storyteller and a highly flexible and engaged designer across mediums, with an ability to adapt visual content for different audiences and outcomes. This individual will help to implement Catapult's marketing and communications strategy by researching, planning, creating, editing, organizing, and distributing digital media assets that ensure our organization's story and messaging are supported with clean, dynamic visuals and branding, reach key constituencies, and position Catapult as the Southeast's leading employers' association.
The Multimedia Design Specialist reports to the Senior Communications Manager and works in close collaboration with the Communications Specialist to create, repurpose, maintain and optimize visual content targeted to current and prospective Catapult members and customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Multimedia Design and Development
Design, create and edit digital media to support Catapult's digital and print communications, including graphics, photography, video, audio, and other forms of digital media.
Maintain and apply a nuanced understanding of the organization and its mission, culture, and services when developing digital assets.
Work closely with the Marketing and Engagement Team to develop, repurpose, maintain, and optimize multimedia assets for various audiences and for a particular visual medium.
Collaborate with the Senior Communications Manager and the Communications Specialist to map and optimize the user journey through visual elements.
Conceive and develop compelling and complementary multimedia content, including video and other dynamic assets, to achieve established goals.
Partner with the Communications Specialist to ensure design assets and storytelling content are complementary and aligned.
Adhere to Catapult's editorial calendar to ensure appropriate timelines for multimedia content preparation and publication/deployment. Manage multiple, deadline-driven projects simultaneously.
Collaborate with Catapult's internal team and external partners to source multimedia content.
Analyze and identify digital asset needs, trends, and opportunities. Recommend multimedia content and messages to achieve established goals.
Maintain and apply knowledge of digital communication platforms and content marketing best practices to engage and develop Catapult audiences.
Apply knowledge and judgment of digital distribution methods. Recommend distribution channels to drive traffic and engage Catapult's audiences.
Identify discrepancies in assets across Catapult platforms (e.g., website, social media). Work with Catapult's Senior Communications Manager and Communications Specialist to resolve.
Assist in developing and executing multimedia content strategies to maintain and build Catapult audiences.
Uphold Catapult editorial and brand guidelines, standards, and policies.
Organize and maintain Catapult's digital asset library.
Brand Collateral Development
Ideate, design, and source print collateral (e.g., posters, flyers, event signage) and promotional items.
Manage deadlines and workflows with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of print materials and other physical marketing collateral.
Design, create, and update brand collateral to support Catapult's established needs and goals. Maintain and apply a nuanced understanding of the organization and its mission, culture, and services when developing collateral.
Organize and maintain inventory of print collateral and promotional items; monitor quantities and reorder as required.
Identify, design and source additional collateral needs, including event and wayfinding signage, and staff credentials, with input and collaboration from Catapult's Senior Marketing Manager.
Maintain and apply knowledge of current brand collateral trends to ensure Catapult assets resonate with target audiences, including current members and partners.
Website Management
Lead creation, maintenance, and updating of website content with strategic oversight from the Senior Communications Manager. Liaise with colleagues in other departments to identify and address content edits.
Collaborate with Catapult's Marketing and Engagement team and external developers to identify and implement website enhancements and improvements.
Identify and resolve broken links and other website issues. Escalate complex or recurring problems to Catapult's Senior Communications Manager for strategic and approved resolution.
Regularly monitor website traffic and identify trends and opportunities.
Maintain and apply knowledge of website design, accessibility, data privacy, and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices to engage and develop Catapult audiences.
Work with Catapult's Senior Communications Manager to develop monthly, quarterly, and annual assets/media reports and to support comprehensive metrics tracking and reporting.
Consult with senior members of the Marketing and Engagement team as needed to resolve reporting issues/discrepancies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to members and other employees of the organization.
Proficient with MS Office Suites, HRIS programs or other similar software
Experience with WordPress and/or other website content management software
Experience with CMS-based webpage design and media integration
Experience with Google Analytics and/or other website analytics tools
Experience with Asana, Monday.com or other project management software
Experience with HTML, SEO
Experience with editorial calendars and brand/style guidelines
Experience analyzing audience data, identifying opportunities, and building digital audiences
Understanding of the printing process and the presentation/packaging of design files
Proficient with audio and video editing software
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
TRAVEL
Minimal travel. Must be willing to travel to assigned home office once per month for collaboration days and other Catapult locations 4 times per year for all-hands meetings as well as any required ad-hoc meetings. Mileage to/from home office is not reimbursable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a business setting, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
