Job description

Requirements MOS Code: 25H (Army), A04A, A05A, (Navy) Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or Public Administration, Media Production, Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing or related field and one (1) year of experience in audio-visual production, to include the use of editing tools software, broadcasting equipment and master control, photography, journalism, or public relations; or an Associate's degree in Business or Public Administration, Media Production, Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in audio-visual production, to include the use of editing tools software, broadcasting equipment and master control, photography, journalism, or public relations. Licenses and Certificates: A Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state. General Purpose Under general direction, designs, develops, maintains and produces a variety of educational Web sites, multimedia, graphics, animation, audio and video production to support department and program needs, and assist in the development of public information and media relations.

Typical Duties Design, develop and maintain multimedia for training, communications and public information. Involves: Design and develop multimedia-based layouts, graphics, animation, video, sound for department and/or City's use in presentations, video productions, multimedia programs, website, CDs, DVDs, and other electronic media. Updates websites.

Performs technical duties in the production of video and audio projects, CDs/DVDs, video streaming and other field and video and audio productions. Run audio board during live webcasts; records, edits and uploads voiceover files; manage media bandwidth to stream video for optimum distribution in online products; operate non-linear video and audio editing equipment including edit controllers, video cameras, hard disk video recorders, digital video storage devices, and audio mixers; edits special effects, composition and design of video and audio productions; edits and manipulates photos; maintain and organize production file archives. Prepare and provide logos, programs, training materials, newsletters, and other material using professional page layout and graphic design software.

Compose, edit and proofread copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, consistency and formatting. Assist in the planning and executing of public relations and marketing activities to include event coordination and execution. Write newsletters, press releases and radio and television spots.

Arrange for radio and television interviews. Maintain social media information, photos and other materials. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
