Responsibilities:
The Multimedia Researcher will support Barrow Wise's NSF project and perform the following duties:
  • Comprehensive experience using digital asset management systems (Acquia DAM & Brightcove) to maintain and archive images/multimedia and permission documents.
  • Using the digital asset management systems to add, edit, and maintain accurate metadata for all assets.
  • Ability to obtain permission for NSF to use images and video from credited parties, whether that be via phone, email, online form, etc.
  • Ability to independently track down requested image and video types for various NSF projects.
  • Advise on copyright and usage questions on all NSF communications platforms, both digital and print.
  • Manage NSF-wide image/multimedia rights and permissions questions.
  • Reply to internal and external requests for images and multimedia.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and perform photography sessions at NSF HQ and on location, including setup/breakdown/maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to apply standard post-capture image adjustments and prepare images for distribution.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
  • Develop and maintain custom virtual reality content for use on the Oculus platform. This work would include developing interactive 360° video and CGI virtual reality experiences based on information and discoveries from NSF-funded researchers.

An ideal candidate has the following:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience
  • Experience with using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
  • Experience with 508 compliance.
  • Provide 3-5 pieces of original work for review
  • Demonstrated expert level of experience with Digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) equipment.
  • Demonstrated expert level of experience in portrait, event, editorial, and/or environmental photography.
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, color theory, and visual storytelling.
  • Demonstrated expert level of experience with digital asset management systems.
