Job Summary: As a Part-Time Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community by responding to emergency calls, performing firefighting and rescue operations, and providing medical assistance. • Respond promptly to fire, medical, and other emergency calls, assessing the situation, and taking appropriate action to mitigate risks and save lives.
• Perform firefighting operations, including hose handling, ventilation, search and rescue, and the operation of fire apparatus and equipment.
• Administer first aid, CPR, and basic life support to individuals in medical emergencies, providing initial care until advanced medical personnel arrive.
• Participate in ongoing training and drills to maintain and enhance firefighting and emergency response skills, staying updated with industry standards and best practices.
• Maintain and inspect firefighting equipment, apparatus, and tools to ensure they are in proper working condition, reporting any issues for repair or replacement.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Some departments may prefer or require post-secondary education or firefighting certifications.
• Possession of firefighter certifications from a recognized training academy is essential. These certifications often include Firefighter I and II, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certifications.
• Excellent physical condition and the ability to pass physical fitness assessments, agility tests, and medical evaluations to meet firefighting demands.
• A valid driver's license is usually required, and a clean driving record may be necessary to operate fire apparatus and vehicles safely. Additional endorsements, such as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), may be required depending on the department.
