Job Summary: As a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), you will play a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of surgical procedures. Working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals, you will be responsible for preparing the operating room, arranging surgical instruments and equipment, and assisting during surgical procedures. Your expertise and precision will contribute directly to the safety and success of each surgery.

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring it is clean, sterile, and properly organized for the upcoming surgical procedure
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the surgical procedure's requirements
• Assist in positioning and preparing the patient for surgery, including cleaning and draping the surgical site
• Confirm the completeness of patient consent forms and pertinent medical records
• Hand surgical instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and adhering to the surgeon's preferences
• Monitor and maintain proper functioning of equipment in the operating room, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members during surgical procedures, ensuring a seamless surgical flow
• Handle tissue specimens with accuracy and deliver them to the appropriate personnel for examination
• Assist with patient transfer to the recovery room, providing necessary documentation and information to ensure a smooth transition of care
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, restocking supplies for future procedures
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean surgical environment at all times
• Follow hospital and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and protocols

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified surgical technology program
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited institution
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with the surgical team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy equipment
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to surgical procedures
• Participate in continuous education and professional development
