Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Operator to review production PDF files for our trading card products across various brands under our professional sports and entertainment licenses. This position involves collaborating with internal teams in a fast-paced environment to ensure the visual quality, verify the printability of our products, and adhere to the standards set by our licensors. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in prepress and printing processes. They should be detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in problem-solving. Experience with printing separations-including foils, opaque white, die cuts, and more-is essential. Strong communication skills are required to clearly articulate any errors found in the files. Additionally, a keen eye for detail, a proactive attitude, and proficiency in sports terminology and awareness are important for success in this role.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform final review of imposed trading card sheets for errors and omissions prior to release of files to press.
  • Conduct quality checks on imposed digital proofs, verifying licensor and internal technical revisions and proactively addressing deviations.
  • Operate digital platforms, to review specifications ensuring that settings align with print specifications for each job.
  • Review composed files of trading cards for file integrity, design consistency and quality, and technical set-up.
  • Demonstrated proficiency operating projects in the Prinergy workflow system.
  • Master and digital imposition reviews including a thorough evaluation of file construction based on print technology, image and copy placement.
  • Review of individual cards for content accuracy and print specifications as well as verifying information and print specs by product subset.
  • Work closely with the prepress, product development, brand and graphic design departments.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience (2+ years) in a similar pre-press/print production role.

Knowledge Skills and ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, especially in addressing technical challenges/errors.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flex across multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, and pre-press techniques.
  • Candidates with an interest and knowledge in sports and entertainment are sought.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro, Prinergy, and an ability to assimilate new digital platforms quickly.
