Job description

Summary A Production Team Assistant infuses training, development, and organizational goals into the leadership of the production floor. As a first impression to our valuable front line operators, a successful candidate will have a variety of attributes involving communication, leadership, management of workflow, safety, supervision, and technological aptitude. Essential duties and responsibilities Demonstrate core values of organization and serve as role model for all associates.

Communicating (verbal and listening) with operators, management, process owners, and other peers. Coordinates support efforts amongst production and engineering team when applicable. Identifies training needs and arranges for training activities in responsible area(s)/department(s).

Monitors training progress for trainer and trainee, ensures identified training is completed and maintains the employee-training matrix. Ensure that the team is working well together including resolving basic Tier 1 employee conflicts and involving HR and/or the Supervisor involved when necessary. Provide performance feedback to manager/supervisor for employee reviews.

Ensure that employees are managing expired materials in responsible area(s)/department(s) Ensure that the employees are managing the review and recall of calibrated items in responsible area(s)/department(s) Ensures all process related steps are completed with proper verification; electronic or manual signatures. When applicable perform any necessary ERP transactions such as but not limited to work in process receipts, work order splits, inventory adjustments, material issues, scrap, and labor transactions. Completes defect and rejection forms and reviews with team members for opportunities of continuous improvement.

Collects, reviews, and displays any other operational metric data applicable to running an effective and efficient area(s)/department(s). Attends meetings as production representative; such as but not limited to design review kick-off meetings, material review board, and production status meetings. Monitors workflow and ensure team members are keeping the flow at an acceptable level.

Maintains a safe and compliant working environment. Maintain tools and hardware ensuring team members have the proper components and equipment to perform their jobs efficiently Ensures all production parts are being handled according to the manufacturing instructions or work instructions Identifies and arranges lean events and continuous improvement measures in area(s)/department(s) This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications The ability to serve as a coach, mentor, role model for their own front line staff and others. Must be able to effectively communicate instructions to team(s) and listen to feedback. Must be willing to be a leader in the area(s)/department(s) and also work in a team environment with peers.

High School Diploma or GED Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience. Previous demonstrated leadership experience preferred but not required.
