The Role:

As an Enterprise Account Executive (Business Development Manager), you will be responsible for driving netnew and expansion revenue within large, complex enterprises ($5B+ annual revenue). This role requires the ability to navigate multiyear transformation initiatives, engage senior executives, and manage sophisticated buying teams spanning finance, IT, procurement, and shared services.

You will lead strategic sales efforts that position Esker as a longterm partner to the Office of the CFO, helping enterprise customers modernize financial operations through AIdriven automation.

In this role, you will own the sales process, from prospecting to closing long-term contracts, while fostering strong client relationships and driving measurable business impact. Your work will directly contribute to market expansion and company success. This is a highimpact role focused on enterprise deal size, complexity, and strategic outcomes, not transactional selling.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive new business growth-identify, pursue and close large, strategic enterprise opportunities through targeted account planning and consultative selling with the entire customer project team including business, IT, project sponsors and executive leaders that align to enterprise priorities.

  • Expand existing accounts-cross-sell innovative solutions across the platform to maximize customer value and strengthen relationships.

  • Own the sales cycle-drive customer engagement at each stage of the sales cycle, culminating in negotiations with executives to close high-value deals and facilitate long-term contracts as a trusted strategic advisor.

  • Lead a team-selling process - engage your sales team of solution engineers, SMEs, Value Engineers, and delivery partners as well leverage peers and executives to advance your sale.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally-Work with marketing, customer success, product teams, sales team and partners to refine sales strategies and advance solution requests and promote customer success.

  • Enhance expertise and refine strategies-commit to ongoing professional development, embrace data-driven insights, and apply industry best practices to optimize sales performance.

  • Represent the company at industry events-attend trade shows, domestic and international sales conferences, and high-impact networking opportunities.

  • Leverage Tools and Methodologies - use Salesforce, Highspot and other sales tools in your daily work to follow internal processes

Required qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (or equivalent training and experience).

  • Experience: 10+ years of outside sales experience with a successful track record selling enterprise Finance, Accounting or Procurement software solutions to companies of $5B+ revenue

  • Industry expertise: Strong understanding of business processes (Sales and Distribution, Source to Pay, and Order to Cash). Specific industry experience selling into Chemical Industry is strongly preferred; broader manufacturing industry experience welcome.

  • Technical knowledge: Familiarity with business automation tools and ERP solutions; SAP preferred

  • Communication and leadership skills: Proven ability to earn trust, influence stakeholders, and guide prospects through complex sales conversations.

Preferred qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to independently prospect for new sales opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads.

  • Experience navigating regulated environments with audit, compliance, and risk considerations.

  • Strong phone presence and professional approach to customer engagement.

  • Experience working on high performing cross-functional teams with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of cloud-based solutions, AI, SaaS business models, and data-driven decision-making.

Salary Range: $130,000-150,000 + Commission
