Yellow Tree Construction Services is currently looking for a Superintendent. Yellow Tree is a full service Real Estate company focused on multifamily urban in-fill developments in Minneapolis. On our new construction projects we typically act as the Developer, Builder, and Property Manager. We also serve a select group of clients on 3rd party work. Yellow Tree is a fast growing company with a $100M backlog in development projects.

 Position Summary

 This position will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the assigned construction project, while keeping the project on schedule, under budget, and in accordance with all safety and quality protocols.

 Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily construction activities at a work site
• Ensure an accident free project
• Manages site team
• Meet with owners to discuss build-out specifications and improvements
• Maintain accurate and open communication with Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Senior Superintendent
• Planning and implementation to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
• Develop a site logistics plan
• Conduct on-site project orientations
• Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings
• Manage and track work progress and subcontractor productivity
• Provide high level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
• Commercial, ground-up construction experience highly preferred
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Proficient in risk management and growing ability to teach and coach project team
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
• Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
• Computer/tablet proficiency
• Current driver’s license
