About the Firm
We are representing a long-established wealth management firm with a family office focus, providing comprehensive portfolio management, financial planning, and advisory services to individuals, families, and high-net-worth clients. The firm blends investment expertise with holistic client support to help achieve long-term financial success.
They are launching an in-house tax vertical to enhance client service by offering integrated tax preparation, planning, and advisory directly alongside their financial advisors. This new vertical will complement the firm’s existing financial planning, investment management, and family office services, allowing clients to receive coordinated, year-round tax strategy alongside their broader wealth plan—eliminating the need to coordinate with external CPAs and enabling more proactive, holistic advice.
About the Role
The Tax Senior Manager will be the founding leader of this division, playing a pivotal role in its design, launch, and long-term evolution. This is a hands-on, high-impact position where the right candidate will shape workflows, select and implement technology, establish best practices, and build the foundation for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the setup and ongoing operations of the new tax division, including shaping processes, workflows, and technology stack (in collaboration with firm leadership and consultants).
Oversee preparation and review of complex individual (1040), trust (1041), corporate (1120/1120-S), and partnership (1065) returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Deliver year-round proactive tax planning and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals and families, including Roth conversions, RMD strategies, charitable giving, capital gains/loss harvesting, estate/gift tax considerations, and projections to optimize outcomes.
Collaborate closely with financial advisors to align tax strategies with clients' investment, retirement, and estate plans, participating in client meetings and prospect discussions as needed.
Provide clear, approachable education and consultations to clients on tax topics, filing requirements, and opportunities.
Contribute to firm growth by supporting liquidity events, equity compensation planning, and other special projects where tax expertise adds value.
CPA license required.
7-10+ years of progressive tax experience, with strong preference for background in wealth management, family offices, or serving high-net-worth clients.
Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065 returns, with in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
Proven ability to provide tax consulting and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals/families, including estate, gift, and trust matters (business returns a plus but not required).
Strong relationship-management skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and build trust with clients and advisors.
Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition, humility and tech saviness. Comfortable shaping a new vertical dynamically.
Competitive Compensation
Comprehensive benefits package and Paid Time Off (PTO)
A collaborative, team-oriented environment that values autonomy, precision, and professional growth.
