Job Description

VersaTech has an opening for a Staff Accountant to be a member of our Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate should be a self-starting professional who is comfortable in a fast-paced accounting environment using analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

Prepare schedules, monthly closing journal entries, and account reconciliation for financial reports prepared in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure accuracy and timely communication of cash position updates to the Director of Finance and Accounting.
Prepare variance explanation reporting that analyzes actuals compared to Plan, Forecast, and prior periods.
Prepare year-end audit work papers and coordination with auditors.
Assist with other year-end reporting and tax package requirements.
Manage payroll preparation process for timeliness and accuracy.
Timely and accurate preparation of accounting tasks including customer billing, revenue recognition, employee reimbursement, sales tax, W-2, etc.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required (GAAP understanding)
A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience
Hands-on accounting system software experience
Government Contracting experiences a plus.
Hands-on experience with Payroll processing systems such as ADP.
