Job Summary/Responsibilities

The Youth Sports & Fitness Camp is a general sports camp. We play a variety of sports daily and throughout the week. We focus on a variety of sports daily and teach the campers the basic skills of those sports. We work on teamwork, sportsmanship, sharing, taking turns, and the overall concepts of each sport. We also have a fitness component to our camp that focuses on taking care of one's body! We do different group fitness classes with the campers that incorporate good nutrition and proper stretching techniques. Some of these classes include spinning, yoga, aerobics, killer abs, and many more!
This position requires counselors who are energetic, outgoing, caring, team players, and most importantly, selfless! The job duties are as follows: assist in the supervision of assigned group including but not limited to; sports skills, games, arts & crafts, lunch, swimming, field trips, outdoor adventure, and fitness classes. Counselors are also required to assist in equipment and supplies storage, maintenance, and inventory, maintain a safe learning/playing environment, followALLSummer Camp policies and procedures, and most importantly, serve as an appropriatePOSITIVEROLEMODELfor the campers.

Required Qualifications

  • Must beCPR& First Aid Certified. For those of you who do not have this certification, if hired, we will provide theCPR& first aid class to you.

  • Must be willing and able to be outside and work in various weather conditions, such as rain or heat.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with elementary and middle school-age children.

  • A passion for sports and fitness.

  • Previous experience either playing and/or coaching organized sports.

  • Ability to remain level-headed, calm, and find solutions to problems that may arise.

  • Ability to interact positively with children and parents.
