About the Role:

The Recreation Leader-Youth Leader plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for young individuals to explore recreational activities and develop social skills. The Recreation Leader-Youth Leader will serve as a positive role model, encouraging personal growth, responsibility, and healthy lifestyle choices among youth. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance the overall well-being and development of young people through structured recreational opportunities and supportive mentorship. This position will have flexible days Monday-Friday and the hours are 3pm-6pm.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, and colleagues.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills in conflict resolution and behavior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by enforcing rules, monitoring behavior, and maintaining a secure environment.
  • Engage with youth to build rapport, encourage participation, and foster a sense of community and inclusion.
  • Assist in the setup and cleanup of program spaces and equipment before and after activities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to youth, supporting their social, emotional, and physical development.
